What is Bananaklan?

It’s a lot of things. Rebel arts. Rebel media. Bananaklan is a collective known to far more heads thanthose that exist within the usual confines of media savvy cool. Never heard of it? Maybe you are not cool? Or too cool to know. The story so far is said to be modelled on Tony Wilson’s famous factory records business practice. This means no contracts, no trademarks and all round chaos in it’s regard for what is generally considered good music business conduct. So releases are sporadic and often missed by the conventional media radar. This is how it should be.

Bugger the media. This is rebellion in the form of audio bedlam. Digital dysfunction that functions beyond the straight jacket of major corporation rape and slave driving. There are no rules, no share holders, no directors. Just artists doing what they do when they feel to do it.

Our membership is growing and a conscious entrepreneurial mechanism might just rear it’s ugly head up at some point. But for now.... the rebellion is all we have. Rebellion via mix tape, website, underground party, low budget film and anything else we can think of. A recording organisation unlike all the rest. We like to make recordings. Recordings of all manner of things. Art for the peoples people by the people.

So, once again, what is Bananaklan?
The anti label; a bunch of digital pimps and pimpstrels( whatever that means); a dream; a community of like minds; a collective of independent minds; a pain in the arse; a pipe dream; a vague entity; the scourge of academic consideration; a rich dad’s nightmare; a poor mansDef Jam; a rancid bunch of work shy music lovers; a spaceship; armchair political activism.

God has helped us for we refuse to give a shit about rules and regulations: let the voice of the voiceless be heard through our blessed vehicle. All hangers on and users are welcome. Let it be said KLAN JUSTICE is deep. If your heart and mind are not part of communal betterment then you are just wasting your time. G and find one of the other money hungry fad chasing record label, promoters, agents, magazines or organisations to help you. There are so many out there for you to choose from.
